ORUNKA Privacy Policy (summary in English)

Effective 2026-10-25 · Applies to ORUNKA on iPhone and Mac (App Store), Windows (Steam) and the official website orunka.com (including the community boards). The Korean text is the official version.

ORUNKA is an online game made and run by an individual developer, Sean Son. Sign-in with Apple or Google is required. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

  • What we process: your account ID (uid), sign-in provider and, for Google sign-in, your email (Sign in with Apple does not request your name or email); your game data (character name and look, level, pets, inventory, quests, in-game position, play time, party, when each character slot was last deleted, and per account how long you auto-hunted while away from the keyboard today plus any extra time the developer granted); chat messages and reports; a gameplay activity log (time-stamped in-game actions such as connecting and leaving, level-ups, per-minute hunting totals, captures, shop purchases and sales, crafting, quests, trades with the other character and the items, pets and currency exchanged, parties, away-from-keyboard auto-hunt limit warnings and stops, reports and blocks, character creation and deletion, disconnect reasons, admin edits, penalties, periodic save-summary changes, command counts and timing to spot automation, and your in-game position on each line; if you are muted or suspended, your IP addresses and device types from the last 30 days, up to 5 each — chat text is not included); cheat-suspicion flags with their reasons; connection logs (time, IP address, game version, platform name, sign-in method, game language); per-IP counts of connections that never sign in (not linked to any account); your age and terms confirmation; and emails you send us. We do not collect device IDs, advertising IDs, contacts or precise location, and we do not use IP addresses to find your location.
  • Why: to sign you in, run the game, keep players safe (reports, mutes, suspensions), detect cheating (hacks, macros, bug exploits, real-money trading, funneling from other accounts), handle disputes and appeals, restore lost game data, fix problems and answer support requests. Never for ads or sale.
  • Automated processing: banned words in chat are hidden, disallowed names are refused, and connections that send too many or impossible commands are cut automatically (you can reconnect). A program flags accounts that look like cheating, but a flag alone never leads to a penalty: the developer reviews the records and decides on every mute or suspension.
  • Community boards: if you sign in to the boards on orunka.com, we process your account ID (uid, same account as the game), board nickname, posts and comments (with times written and edited), votes on Tips posts (which post you recommended and when — one per post, which you can take back), reports (target, reason, time), board restrictions, and anti-abuse records (a salted, one-way hash of your IP address with the time, and short-term write counts). The board server does not store your email or IP address. Reading the boards collects nothing. Posts and comments stay until you delete them or use Delete my board data on the My page (delete everything, or keep posts and show the author as "탈퇴한 사용자 (deleted user)"). If your board use is restricted and you use Delete my board data before the restriction ends, your posts, comments and nickname are handled as you chose, but your uid, the restriction end time and its reason are kept until the restriction ends, so it cannot be avoided by signing up again, and then deleted automatically (usually within 1–2 days after it ends). Your votes (uid, post and time) are deleted as soon as you take them back, the post is deleted, or you use Delete my board data, and are taken off the post's count; otherwise they are kept while the post exists. IP hashes are deleted after 90 days, reports after 180 days, write counts within a day; a changed or deleted nickname is blocked for others for 30 days (without your uid). Board request logs keep only the path and result for 30 days. Content reported by three different people is hidden automatically until the developer reviews it. The website and boards run on AWS in Seoul (Amazon S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB).
  • Where: there are two game servers on AWS Lightsail: the Korea server in Seoul (ap-northeast-2) and the US server in Northern Virginia, USA (us-east-1). Each server is a separate world with its own saves, and you choose the server in the app (the US server is available from the app version that adds server selection; earlier versions use the Korea server only). Your game data, chat, reports, connection logs and gameplay activity logs are stored only on the server you choose, including that server's backups and disk snapshots, which stay in the same AWS region. Data on the Korea server is not moved to the US server. If you do not want your game data stored in the USA, choose the Korea server. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication (USA) and Apple. Support emails to support@orunka.com (and other orunka.com addresses) are received by Amazon SES in Seoul, kept in Amazon S3 in Seoul for up to 7 days and forwarded by AWS Lambda in Seoul to Gmail (Google, USA). Emails to our former address orunka@seanson.com, which still works, pass through ImprovMX (email forwarding) to Gmail (Google, USA).
  • How long: game saves until you delete your account (dated backups: 14 days; disk snapshots: 7 days); deleted characters: 30 days, so we can restore one on request; chat logs: 30 days; gameplay activity logs and connection logs: 90 days, also after you delete your account, to check for cheating; suspicion flags: 90 days after the last finding; reports: 1 year, also after you delete your account; terms consent records: while your account exists (the IP address in them is removed after 1 year); away-from-keyboard auto-hunt time: today's total is cleared after midnight Korea time (extra time granted by the developer: while your account exists); an active mute: until it ends, even if you delete your account; warnings, mutes and suspensions: 1 year after they end (a permanent ban: while the account exists, then 1 year after deletion); support emails: 1 year after the request is closed. Google keeps sign-in IP addresses for a few weeks and removes deleted accounts from its backups within 180 days.
  • Delete your account: in the game, go to Settings › 계정 (Account) › 계정 지우기 (Delete account) and confirm twice. This deletes your server save and backups (including deleted characters) and your Firebase account, and revokes Sign in with Apple. From the app version that adds server selection, this deletes your data on both the Korea and US servers (earlier versions use only the Korea server, so they delete it there). The retention periods above apply on both servers. Your board data is not deleted with the game account; use Delete my board data on the website or email us. If you last signed in more than 10 minutes before deleting, your save and backups are set aside for 7 days and then erased, so we can restore them if someone else deleted your account — email us within 7 days. You can also email us to delete.
  • Age: ORUNKA is for ages 16 and up. If we learn that a child under 16 has signed up, we delete the data.
  • Other players can see your character name, look, level, position and chat in the game. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, except when the law requires it.
